    Datenbank-Testserver: schneller Prozessor oder teure Platten?

    strimm hat einem Thema gepostet in Hardware
    Hallo Wir brauchen einen Datenbank-Testserver, auf dem auch virtuelle Maschinen laufen sollen. Datenbankgrösse ca. 40 GB. geplanter RAM = 128 GB. ausserdem sollen da ca. 10 virtuelle Maschinen laufen, die aber nicht alle gleichzeitig eingeschaltet sind. Nun stellt sich die Frage: "schneller Prozessor oder teure Platten?" Würde man da eher einen "normalen" 16c/32t-Prozessor mit teuren SAS-Platten, oder einen schnellen (ebenfalls 16c/32t) Prozessor mit billigen SATA-Platten nehmen?. Bei vier Platten a 1 TB (alles SSD natürlich) ist der Preisunterschied ca. 2000eur (gesamt) zwischen SAS- und SATA-Platten. Für "teueren Prozessor und teure Platten" reicht das Budget nicht, ist ja nur Test. Ciao
