In meinem Zweitrechner dümpelt ein Gigabyte BX 2000 (Bios ist aktuell) rum und da mir letztens zwei SCSI-Platten zugelaufen sind, wollt ich mir mal wieder ein reines SCSI-System zusammenbasteln.

Also:

Board + Adaptec 2940 Bios 1.23 (schon älter, lässt sich aber nicht flashen)

2 Seagate Barracuda (ID 0 und 1)

Teac 40-fach CDROM (ID 2 und terminiert)

Im Bios Boot from SCSI eingestellt, Rest steht auf factory default

Adaptec auf factory default.

Wenn ich von W2K-Advanced Server CD booten will (das gleiche geschieht auch mit W2K Prof, alles Original-CDs) meldet der Adaptec: bootable CDROM gefunden.

Danach schaltet sich nochmal das Board-Bios ein und gibt mir die Fehlermeldung "CDBOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code 4" aus.

Habe schon im Handbuch geschaut und auch auf der Gigabyte Webseite, finde aber den Fehlercode nicht.

Irgendwelche sachdienlichen Hinweise?

This information only deals with older cards with early BIOS revisions.

The option was available in the 2940UW's V1.23 BIOS version, but due to changes in the standard from Microsoft, the CD would not boot.

This was corrected in the v1.25 and later BIOS versions for the 2940UW and 3940UW.

The 2940AU requires V1.32 BIOS version or later.
