CD-/DVD-Brennen mit XP (Patch kb932716)

Hallo.

Ich hab gestern mal versucht, auf einem nackten XP ne CD zu brennen. Hat leider nicht geklappt (funktionsfähiger DVD+- Brenner vorhanden, gigabyteweise Platz auf C).

Da hab ich Patch kb932716 gefunden, der soll DVD-Brennen möglich machen. Hat auch nicht geklappt?

Kann man eigentlich CD-RWs mit Bordmitteln löschen? Ich probier halt gern mal viel aus.

Sind die erzeugten CDs und DVDs eigentlich Mac- und Linux-kompatibel? Ich hatte da was gelesen, das (mindestens standardmässig, wenn nicht immer) da ein "nur Win2000-XP-Vista"-kompatibles Dateisystemformat verwendet wird.

Normal verwende ich Nero, aber das ist manchen Leuten zu mächtig, zu kompliziert - und wenns mit Bordmitteln geht, warum Geld ausgeben?

Kann mir jemand diese Frage beantworten, bitte?
