Kann man mit JavaScript den Code einer html Datei in eine variable speichern? Die Datei ist online, ich müsste der Funtion also eine URL übergeben.

Die Datei muss nicht lokal gespeichert werden. Ich möchte lediglich nach einem String parsen.

Du solltest dir Informationen zum XMLHttpRequest-Objekt zu gemüte führen.

Gibt sehr gute Bücher, wenn du es genau haben möchtest, darüber. Musst nur nach AJAX ausschau halten. :)

Das mit dem XMLHttpRequest-Objekt schau ich mir mal an.

Das Programm soll nur ein einziges mal lokal auf meinem Rechner laufen, da hab ich kein PHP. Da wollte ich nicht so viel Aufwand treiben und dachte es ginge schnell mit JavaScript.
