kann mir jemand sagen, wo die Größten bzw. wichtigsten unterschiede zwischen Linux Kernel 2.4 und 2.6 sind?

Hi,

nettes, neues in Kernel 2.6x sind/waren:

- volle IPv6 Unterstütztung

- bessere Latenz (optimierter Kernelcode)

- neues Treibermodell

- komplett neue IDE Schnittstelle

- endlich XFS von Haus aus dabei

etc.

mein persönliches HighLight des 2.6er LinuxKernels: Die Native POSIX Thread Library.

Auch wenn es hierfür einen Patch für den 2.4er Kernel gab; endgültig hat sich das Ding erst mit dem 2.6er Kernel etabliert.
