welcher befehl sucht ab / nach dem gesuchten verzeichniss...???

Nicht nur auf Solaris, sollte auf fast jedem Unix gehen:

find [Anfangspunkt] -type [type] -name [name]

Also für dich:

find / -type d -name versions

oder

find / -type d -name \*version\*

wenn du Wildcards brauchst...
