Halli Hallo alle zusammen,

Ich hab da mal eine Frage. Ich beschäftige mich seit geraumer Zeit mit dem ESX-Server von VMWare, aber bis jetz hab ich noch nicht rausgefunden was ESX ausgesprochen heißt!?

Kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen?

Ich wäre euch sehr dankbar!

Das Produkt heißt VMware ESX Server. Das ist offiziell keine Abkürzung für irgendwas, genausowenig wie GSX.

Der erste Treffer einer Google-Suche läßt jedoch darauf schließen, daß die Namen aus der Hippieszene an der Westküste kommen und für "electric sky" bzw "grund storm" stehen. Das X wurde angehängt weils sonst zu kurz ist. :D

Habe grad bei dem suport von VMware angerufen und die gefragt wofür das "ESX" steht.

und die meinten es steht für garnix es ist nur ein Fantasiename!
