Ich habe eine klasse geschrieben um Emails aus meinen IMAP Postfach auszulesen. Nun habe ich eine Frage dazu.

Zum auslesen verwende ich die diversen IMAP Funktionen. Falls das kein IMAP Postfach ist und somit kein IMAP unterstützt. Was passiert dann? kann die IMAP Funktion die Emails dennoch auslesen? (habe von einen bekannten gehört das IMAP auch pop3 unterstützt und das automatisch dann macht) Oder streikt der dann? Und was muss ich dann verwenden um die Emails auszulesen?

Soweit ich weiß unterstützen die imap_* Funktionen von PHP auch POP3. Schau dir doch einfach das hier mal an.
