Hallo kernel compilierer,

nach einer neuen Übersetzung des neuen Kernels 2.5.7 tritt bei mir kurz nach dem booten folgendes ein:

VFS: can not boot root device /dev/hda2

kernel panic ... 03:02

was hat das zu bedeuten ???

/dev/hda2 ist mein root device, auf dem Linux drauf liegt !!!

meine /etc/lilo.conf schaut in etwa so aus

...

image = /boot/bzImage

label = new

root = /dev/hda2

...

hat irgendwer vorschläge ???

D.h. das der Kernel nicht in der Lage ist, das root-fs zu mounten. Folgendes solltest Du mal kontrollieren:

1 - sind die IDE Treiber im Kernel

2 - Wird das Dateisystem auf /dev/hda2 vom Kernel unterstuetzt

3 - Versuch mal unter Angabe des Hauptspeichers zu booten (MEM=xxxMB)

4 - Lilo neu installieren
