Hoffentlich kann mir da jemand helfen:

Wie kann ich in Java Bilder(jpg, gif usw) verkleinern bzw. auch durch Angabe einer pixelfläche abschneiden, so dass alles was nicht in die fläche fällt wegfällt?

Schau dir mal die Klassen Image, Graphics und Graphics2D an. Dort solltest du ausreichend Methoden zur Verfügung haben, um dein Bild zu verhackstückeln. ;)
