TRAC, CATCH und END_CATCH sind Makros, die soweit ich weiß nur von den "Microsoft Foundation Classes" benutzt werden.

Ich glaube, es wurde damals so gemacht, da Visual C++ noch nicht 100%ig kompatibel mit normalem C++ gewesen ist. Damit die Programme immer laufen, wurde halt mit Makro-Exceptions gearbeitet.

try und catch sind C++-Sprachstandard und sollten eigentlich benutzt werden.
