Bekommst du Fehlermeldungen?? Was steht in den Logfiles dazu??

Ohne genaue Beschreibung müßte man ne Kristallkugel haben um den Fehler zu finden....

Geht es etwas genauer?

Postgresql Version, evtl. Fehlermeldungen und Statusmeldungen.

Lief Pgsql schon einmal oder ist es eine Erstinstallation?

Wie versuchst Du den postmaster zu starten?

Hast Du Einstellungen der postgresql.conf veraendert?
