DVD-Rom nur im Pio-Mode?

Ich habe ein DVD-Rom "Toshiba SD-M 1612". Dieses läßt sich zu meinem großen Ärger nur im Pio-Mode betreiben. Das zweite LW (Brenner), was zusammen mit diesem am 2. IDE-Kanal habe, läuft hingegen anstandslos im DMA-Mode.

Weiß jemand, ob dieses DVD-Rom DMA-fähig ist und wie ich das LW ggf. im DMA-Mode zum Laufen kriege.

BTW: Die Einstellungen im Gerätemanager unter XP waren erfolglos.
