Hallo!

Ja langsam kann ich mich mit LINUX anfreunden, aber nun hab ich noch eine Frage:

Ich habe einen alten Rechner (PII 233, 90 MB RAM) in dem Rechner hängt zur Zeit eine 30 GB Platte, die wird vom BIOS als 8 GB Platte erkannt. Unter Win2kServer kann ich die 30GB aber nutzen. Geht das bei Linux auch? Ist Linux das BIOS egal (wie bei >win2000), oder hält Linux sich an die BIOS Vorgaben?

Die zu verwendende Distri ist RedHat 7.2.

Du musst nur eine Bootpartition innerhalb der ersten 8 Gig anlegen, dann _sollte_ es funktionieren.

Wenn ich die Platte nur als Storage Medium nutzen will, also nicht das System auf ihr installieren willen, muß ich trotzdem eine bootPartition erstellen???
