Eigentlich heißt das IP-spoofing.

Du bringst dein System dazu, IP-Packages zu senden in deren Header eine falsche Absender-Adresse steht. Natürlich wirst du dann auch nie eine Antwort bekommen, sondern die Maschine für die du dich ausgibst.

Wird gerne für DoS-Attacken eingesetzt, z.B. über den Unix-Echo-Port falls dieser nicht geschützt wurde.
