wie kann ich eine Datei überprüfen ob sie auch wirklich eine DAtei ist und kein Ordner?

ich habe bis jetzt die funktionen is_dir und filetype ausprobiert aber beide gehen

irgendwie nicht!

file_exists() ...

Diese funktionen funktionieren aber nur auf dem Lokalen Filesystem!

is_dir() und is_file() sollten funktionieren. Was geht denn nicht?
