kann mir vielleicht jemand helfen? ich würd gerne mal wissen was genau der Unterschied zwischen Multicast und Broadcast ist.

vielleicht kann mir jemand die genau Definition sagen...

Hallo,

Broadcasts arbeiten Subnetzlokal und erreichen alle Endsysteme, egal ob diese den Broadcast empfangen wollen oder nicht. Multicast hingegen ist ein Verfahren, bei dem eine Gruppen von Empfängern auf IP-Ebene adressiert wird (Class D Adressbereich 224.0.0.0 - 239.255.255.255), Datenpakete werden den Empfängern nur dann zugestellt, wenn diese auch Gruppenmitglied sind. Im Gegensatz zu Broadcasts kann IP-Multicast voll geroutet werden, als Protokoll wird dabei heute fast ausschliesslich PIM (Protocol Independent Multicast) eingesetzt.
