Hi Ihr alle da draußen.

ich (wir) haben ein sehr spezielles Problem bei uns in der Lehrwerkstatt.

Und zwar haben wir einen "ausgemusterten" Auspex 4Front NS2000 Server (sparc) bekommen. Mit sagenhaften 700GB. Ein wahrer Traum. bis auf die Kleinigkeit, dass wir keine Software dazu haben. Nirgends im Haus. Toll. Auch kann uns hier keiner weiterhelfen

Solaris 8 läuft jetzt auf dem System, aber dass ist nicht Sinn der Sache.

Meine Frage:

Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit dem System? Weiß welche Software wir brauchen

und wenn ja: woher man sie herbekommen würde

jegliche Informationen wären hilfreich für uns.

Sorry, wenn ich so lapidar antworte, aber warum ist Solaris nicht Sinn der Sache?

Ich meine, du kriegst auf Sparc IIRC Linux, diverse Unix-Derivate inklusive BSD-Zeugs lauffähig - wenn mich nicht alles täuscht...
