mich würden die unterschiede zwischen IMAP u. POP3 interessieren.

Hallo,

bei POP3 werden Mails auf den Client "geholt", sind also nach diesem Abholen auch nicht mehr auf dem Mailserver verfügbar. Bei IMAP bleiben die Mails auf dem Server, es wird mit einer Kopie auf dem Client gearbeitet. Das hat in einem riesigen Firmennetz den Vorteil, das du von jedem Client aus deine E-Mails lesen und bearbeiten kannst. Außerdem lassen sich die Mails zentral sichern. Einzige Gefahr ist dabei, das der Plattenplatz auf dem Server bei vielen Attachments schnell knapp werden kann.
