4. April 200422 j Hi Leute. Ich möchte mein bestehendes System gerne durch ein Raid1 etwas absichern. Nun meine Frage, wie kann ich Linux überreden, die Partitionen auf eine andere Platte zu spiegeln. Hab da schon nen bissel rumprobiert, aber ich kann für das Raid immer nur Partitionen der neuen Platte auswählen. Vielen Dank!
5. April 200422 j Hallo man mkraid: " ... Note that initializing RAID devices destroys all of the data on the consituent devices. ... " Das klingt zunächst mal nach einem definitiven NEIN. Aber es gibt ebenso definitiv eine Möglichkeit das Linux SoftwareRAID im sog. "degraded modus" aufzubauen... HowTo gibt es hier: http://www.schwarzvogel.de/od2md.shtml Achtung: Sichere Deine Daten oder Lebe mit derem potentiellen Verlust. Zitat aus dem oben genannten HowTo: ... Make backups. Multiple. Check them. Verify them. Keep them in a very safe place. Be educated about how to restore stuff if you accidentally bonker the whole system, not only the part you want to turn into RAID groups. Don't complain about data loss if you don't, I'll just point at you and laugh (this is only because I've been pointed and laughed at in the very same situation). ... Viel Glück & Bye SystemError
