Hallo Freunde,

mein Hostmaster (www.kiratec.com - wärmstens zu empfehlen, da für alle Schandtaten zu haben ;-) ) war so lieb, mir meine MySQL-Datenbank nach außen freizugeben.

Ich will jetzt mit Delphi 7 und der DB-Express-Komponente TSQLConnection aus meiner Applikation darauf zugreifen.

Die Verbindung an sich bekomme ich auch hin (nachdem ich libmysql.dll installiert habe).

Allerdings geht die Anmeldung in die Hose mit der Meldung "DB-Express Fehler: Ungültiger Wert für Anwendername oder Passwort", wobei ich mir zu 100% sicher bin, dass diese Angaben und auch der Datenbankalias stimmen!

Hat jemand eine Ahnung, was ich falsch gemacht habe?

Nachtrag: Muss ich die Datenbank erst in meinen BDE-Manager eintragen? Eigentlich müsste es doch reichen, wenn ich dem Proggie Hostname, Username, Passwort und Treibernamen zur Verfügung stelle...
