Hallo, ich bin gerade dabei den VMWare ESX Server 2.1 zu installieren. Bzw. ich versuche es.

Und zwar basiet das Ding ja auf einer bootfähigen RedHat7.2 CD, die dann automatisch das Setup von ESX starten soll. Diese CD ist ein fertiges Image => Da sollte also alles in ordnung sein.

Das Problem ist nun, dass das Linux bootet,der ESX Welcome-Screen kommt...Danach werden einige Dinge gemountet usw.Plötzlich kommt aber dann die Meldung "EXEC Format Error" und alle Verbindungen werden beendet. Danach bootet der Rechner automatisch neu.

Das ganze soll auf einem HP NetServer mit NetRAID Controller laufen (Habe allerdings bei Test auf anderen Geräten gleiches Problem).

Hat sich erledigt....

dieses sch... Programm unterstützt nur ganz bestimmte Server-Modelle und alle anderen haben Pech gehabt.
