Hallo allerseits,

ich möchte gerne unter SuSE Linux 9.1 einen HP Deskjet 3820 einrichten. Der Drucker ist am USB-Prot eines Einzelplatzrechners angeschlossen.

Wenn ich den Drucker als root einrichte, dann erscheint hinterher eine Passwortabfrage "Autorisierungsdialog - Geben Sie benutzername und Passwort ein - Printing System" und da komme ich nicht weiter.

Also ich betreibe den 3820 momentan unter SuSE 9.2, zuvor habe ich ihn problemlos unter 9.1 betrieben. Was du beschreibst habe ich noch nie gesehen, habe heute auf der Arbeit erst wieder Drucker unter SuSE installiert. Kannst du mal mit Gimp nen Screenshot machen (Menü Datei -> Holen) und hier verlinken ???
