export CATALINA_HOME=/usr/local/....

um es dauerhaft zu setzen, kannst du es in deine ~/.profile oder in /etc/profile einfügen.

Ich würde es direkt im Startscript vom tomcat setzen.

oder so, ich wusste nicht genau woher ich den namen kannte, ich hab damit irgendwann mal rumexperementiert. ;)
