Backup Exec 9.1 unter Windows 2003 Server: besnmp.trc wächst unendlich

Nachdem jetzt der zweite W2K3 bei Kunden stand, weil die Systempartition dicht war (Null freier Speicherplatz), da die besnmp.trc endlos gewachsen war (liegt unter c:\windows\system32), habe ich mal ein wenig geforscht.

Ursache sind zu viele SNMP-Traps der BE, die dort gespeichert werden.

http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/241030.htm Deaktiveren der SNMP-Traps über BE funktioniert nach Infos in diversen Foren nicht immer.

Allerdings ist hier http://forums.veritas.com/discussions/thread.jspa?forumID=101&threadID=39517&messageID=4337510%EE%A1%8B eine Änderung der Registry zu finden, die das dann unterbindet.

"To ensure that the BESNMP.TRC does not grow to a large size, causing space constraints on the hard disk, it is required for Backup Exec to be unregistered from SNMP.

To unregister Backup Exec entries with SNMP, perform the following registry changes:

1) Run REGEDIT.

2) Under the following registry key:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Currentcontrolset\Services\SNMP\Parameters\Extensionagents"

3) From the right-hand panel, delete the following keys:

"Software\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Snmp Events"

"Software\VERITAS\Backup Exec\TapeAlerts"

Ich hoffe, dass damit eure W2K3 etwas länger als meine laufen, ich habe heute eine 15 GB besnmp.trc gekillt.
