validierung mit struts (datum)

hallo,

ich habe ein java projekt und mache die validierung mit struts.

nun möchte ich folgendes datumsformat (JJJJ-MM-TT) überprüfen.

habe es jetzt so gemacht: ^\d{4}-[0-1]?[1-9]?-[0-3]?[0-9]?$

stimmt das so?

ausserdem ändert sich jetzt das datum automatisch ohne dass ich etwas mache.

was spricht gegen new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd").parse(date)?

jetzt habe ich nur noch ein problem:

das datum ist jetzt ein "java.util.date" ich benötige aber ein "java.sql.date" um es in meiner datenbank abzuspeicher.
