3x ifcfg-eth0 und eine immer wiederkehrende pseudo Netzwekkarte

befinden sich jeweils eine ifcfg-eth0 Konfigurationsdatei mit identischem Inhalt. Warum gibt es die gleiche datei 3x? Kann mir jemand erklären wofür jede dieser Dateien benötigt wird. Warum reicht nicht einmal eine ifcfg-eth0?

Außerdem stelle ich bei meinem System fest, dass sich in der /etc/sysconfig/hwconf dauerhaft eine ein Gerät namens "eth2" aufhält. Das Problem, ich habe nur 2 NICs in meiner Workstation (eth0 & eth1). Es bringt nichts den ungebetenen Gast zu löschen. Nach einem reboot sitzt die nicht vorhandene Netzwerkkarte sofort wieder in /etc/sysconfig/hwconf. Gibt es irgend ein Mittel gegen solche Erscheinungen?

hm kenn ich leider nicht.

aber so scherze wie du sie beschreibst, kenn ich eigentlich nur vom device mapper.
