Richtig, Mit 

 drop Index Indexname

müsste es gehen (jedenfalls in Oracle)

also unter Access gelingt es mir nicht..

Hmm hab gerade in der Hilfe von Access geschaut und folgendes gefunden (unter DROP-Anweisung (Beispiel)):

DROP INDEX NeuerIndex ON Tabellenname;

Versuchs mal so!
