Tag zusammen, ich habe zu Hause ein Linux System aufgesetzt mit Debian 3.1 und bin nun am überlegen das System neu aufzusetzen. Ich habe damals nur eine kleine Festplatte eingebaut und due recith mittlerweile nicht mehr aus. Damit keine Daten bei einem Crash verloren gehen wollte ich gleich ein RAID 5 aufsetzen und nun meine Fragen:

1. Muss ich bei der Installation was beachten oder reicht es ein Array zu bilden und dann Linux zu installieren?

2. Habt Ihr schon schon Erfahrung mit einem Controller gemacht

-der Hot Plug & Play unterstützt

- wo man den Status abfragen kann z.B. per Nagios oder anderen Tools / Programmen
