SSL-Was genau benötige ich?

Hallo,

da ich kürzlich (fast) SSL für ein Projekt gebrauch hätte, will ich mir nun selber zum testen mal eine SSL geschützte seite laufen lassen.

Von der Theroie her weiß ich wie das läuft. Ein Zertifikat ist bereits vorhanden. Meine Frage nun, ich habe bei Hosteurope ein Angebot, wo es einen SSL Proxy gibt. Was macht dieser Proxy genau?Nähere Infos bei Hosteurope sagen nur das er Datenverkehr verschlüsselt, soschlau war ich vorher aber auch schon.

Kann ich auf dem besagten Proxy mein SSL Zertifikat "installieren"/hinterlegen? Wenn nein, wozu dient der Proxy und was muss ich mir holen, um mein Zertifikat einsetzen zu können? Mein SSL Zertifikat habe ich von Startcom.
