Moin Moin,

in der nächsten Zeit werden wir 2 Büros haben und diese miteinander über VPN verbinden.

Die VPN-Verbindung funktioniert und der Datenbank-Zugriff vom einen Standort zum anderen geht auch wunderbar, über die internen IPs.

Beide Standorte werden über eine Debian-Firewall geschützt, die über iptables die Zugriffe regelt.

Folgendes Problem taucht nun aber auf :

Sofern an einem Standort etwas heruntergeladen wird ( volle Bandbreite genutzt ), ist der Datenbank Zugriff extrem verzögert, bzw. bricht ab.

Daher kam mir die Idee zum Einsatz von Traffic-Shaping über iptables.

Hat jemand damit schon Erfahrungen gemacht ?

Funktioniert das Ganze gut ?

Kennt jemand ein leicht zu verstehendes HowTo dazu ( Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic Control HOWTO scheint sehr komplex ) ?
