Ich bitte um Begriffsentflechtung...

Ich sehe gerade nicht mehr durch. Was zum Geier sind denn Zertifikate ganz genau? Welche bestandteile enthalten Sie? Wie sind denn der private-key bzw. der public-key darunter einzuordnen? authentifiziert das zertifikat nur den public?

An der Grafik da rechts kannst du auch genau sehen wie da der Ablauf von der Erstellen bis zur Verwendung ist.

Vereinfacht ausgedrückt ist ein Zertifikat nur ein Satz von Daten welcher mit einem privaten Schlüssel signiert wurde und dessen Echtheit mit dem dazugehörigem öffentlichen Schlüssel geprüft werden kann.
