Die Abkürzung wird glaube ich seit der Wiedervereinigung nicht mehr benutzt.

Dachte ich auch, aber es wird überall noch benutzt. Selbst auf den Seiten www.deutschland.de wird die Bezeichnung noch benutzt. :) :)
