Linux und SMP (Proliant 3000)

Hallo,

ich hab hier einen Compaq Proliant 3000 vor mir stehen mit 2 mal P2 300 Mhz. Sobald ich einen Linux-Kernel mit SMP installiere wird nur ein Prozessor gefunden - nach dem nächsten Neustart ist angeblich der zweite Prozessor defekt. Mit der SmartStart CD kann ich den Prozessor wieder aktivieren, bis zum nächsten Boot eines SMP Kernels halt.

Hat einer von Euch eine Ahnung woran das liegen könnte?

Noch als Anmerkung: ich hab die beiden Prozessoren schon vertauscht, es ist trotzdem immer die zweite CPU. Als Linux hab ich hier SuSE 8.1 liegen.
