du brauchst einen Treiber für dBase.

Für den Treiber schaue mal unter:

http://servlet.java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers

In der Liste 5.ter Eintrag von unten. (komische Sortierung)

Wie JDBC funktioniert steht in jedem Grundlagen Javabuch.

z.B. hier: www.javabuch.de

Wie der Treiber-String und die Connection-URL lauten, die du für die JDBC Schnittstelle benötigst, sollte in der Treiber Dokumentation stehen.
