Lauftext bzw. Newsticker in einer Tabellenzelle

Hallo!

Ich möchte in einer Tabellenzelle einen Lauftext einfügen. Mit <marquee> möchte ich es nicht machen, da nur der IE dieses tag kennt.

Wie kriege ich es hin, das er am rechten Rand der Zelle erscheint und am linken verschwindet? Also nicht über die gesamte Tabelle! Wenn möglich mit Javascript.

Nimmt man dafür ein Textfeld, div oder was anderes? Hab keine Ahnung davon.

Die Suche hier im Forum und bei Google lieferten nicht das, was ich brauche.
