Seit letztem Jahr gibts die IDNs auch bei .net und .com. Du musste die xn-- Schreibweise in den Configs eintragen, da die Umlaute direkt clientseitig übersetzt werden. Teste das mal mit einem Mozilla >= 1.4 aus: http://www.käutner.net (geht nicht mit fortschrittlichen IE's; auch von dem Tool, das fürs IE als PlugIn angeboten wird, würde ich aus Erfahrung abraten).
