Der obere Adressbereich (8000h - FFFFh) beherbergt den Basic-Interpreter und die kShell. Diese Trennung wurde nötig, da das Betriebsystem so gewaltig anwuchs, dass es nicht mehr in einem einzigen 32kb-Eprom unterzubringen war.
