ASP.Net CustomValidator wird ignoriert

Ich hab auf einer Webseite ein paar Felder um eine Datei hochzuladen und dazu ein paar RequiredField- und einen CustomValidator.

Die RequiredFieldValidatoren funktionieren einwandfrei und stoppen den Upload im Fehlerfall. Beim CustomValidator jedoch wird zwar im Fehlerfall die entsprechende Meldung angezeigt, die Webseite stoppt die Verarbeitung aber nicht sondern lädt die Datei trotzdem hoch.

Ein Kollege konnte mir zwar sagen das er das Selbe schonmal hatte und da etwas einstellen musste, aber was da war wusste er leider nicht mehr.

Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir da helfen.
