Hallo.

Welche Blockgrösse nehmt ihr beim Erstellen eines neuen SCSI-RAID bei einem Fileserver?

Hab gerade gesehen, dass unser SRV1 (ca 360 GB netto, 6x72 brutto) ne Blockgrösse von 128 KB hat. (Controller ist n ICP8514 mit 128MB Cache aufm Controller).

Ich glaub, IBM empfiehlt 8 KB?

Die Blockgröße scheint mir bei einem Fileserver vernünftig.

Je kleiner die Blockgröße, desto größer wird der I/O-Overhead, daher wäre 8K wohl absoluter Wahnsinn.
