Hallo Leute,

ich hab mir einen Kartenleser mit internem 4-Pin USB-Anschluß gekauft. Mein PC hat aber nur 8-Pin USB-Anschlüsse. Kann ich den da trotzdem anschließen oder geht da was kaputt oder funktioniert er da nicht?

Mehr Pins werden auch nicht benötigt, da USB nur Plus, Masse, Data+ und Data- besitzt.

Die "8-Pin USB-Anschlüsse" sind eigentlich Anschlüsse mit zwei USB-Ports, die Belegung sollte auch im Handbuch des Mainboards stehen. Somit wird zwar ein Port verschenkt, wenn das Gehäuse für die Front-USB-Anschlüsse einen großen (kombinierten) anstatt zwei getrennte Stecker hat, aber kaputt gehen wird deswegen nichts.
