Apache/PHP interpretiert nur <?php und nicht <?

Hallo,

ich habe dieses, im Titel beschriebene, Problem.

Wollte ein Plugin für Nagios installieren und auf das Webinterface zugreifen. Allerdings bekommt mein Apache es nicht hin <? zu interpretieren. Wenn ich php dahinter schreibe (<?php) klappt es allerdings... Nur sind das ein wenig viele Dateien...

Kann mir jemand einen Tip geben?
