Kann ich mit VB auch auf OpenOffice Datenbanken zugreifen, hab bis jetzt nur Beispiele für Access gefunden.

Und mit diesen Beispielen funktioniert es nicht wirklich, besser gesagt ich bekomm es nicht hin.

Open Office bringt kein eigenes Datenbanksystem wie z.B. Access mit (de: OpenOffice.org 3.x - Base).

OO kann diverse DBMS Systeme anbinden, ob mySQL, Postgres usw. OO bringt nur das Frontend für HSQLDB ? Wikipedia mit, aber Du kannst z.B. wie grueni sagte über ODBC im Grunde jedes DBMS benutzen. Du legst eine Datenquelle an und kannst dann aus VB (oder auch anderen Sprachen) mit der Datenbank kommunizieren.

Als Bsp hatte ich mal Postgresql an Access angebunden, da der Kunde Access als Frontend haben wollte. Ich habe dann mit verknüpften Tabellen in Access gearbeitet und spezielle Abfragen über eine eigene Klasse realisiert
