Die Frage mag jetzt zwar blöd klingen, aber was ist der Unterschied zwischen einem Datenbankmanagementsystem (DBMS) und einer normalen Datenbank bzw. normalen Dateiverwaltung?

Zum DBMS gehören Komponenten wie z.B. die Zugriffsverwaltung, Mehrbenutzerbetrieb, Integrität, Datensicherheit/-schutz, Schnittstellen usw. Das DBMS ist mit den einzelnen Datenbanken in einem Datenbanksystem zusammengefasst.
