Wie werden Baum(oder auch Tree)-Menüs möglichst einfach programmiert (für ne HTML - Seite )?

---Alle Beispiele , die ich bis jez Gefunden habe sind ziemlich komplex , und mein Chef will einen "einfachen und kleinen" Quellcode haben , den er selbst auch später dann modifizieren kann (er hat nich soviel Ahnung von Javscript und Co)
