Gibt es ne elegante möglichkeit per PHP nen Download zu starten...

Mir geht es darum, beim click auf den Link noch ein paar Daten abzuspeichern (Wer gerade was downloaded, also Protokoll führen). Wie stoße ich denn dann den Download an... mir fällt da so spontan nur die Möglichkeit per HTML-Weiterleitung (refresh...) auf den Donwload ein....

Gibts da ne schickere Möglichkeit?
