Hallo zusammen,

ich habe in meinem Server eine neue Platte eingebaut. Jetzt will ich auf der alten Platte alle Partitionen löschen und zwei neue Partionen anlegen. Eine etwa 2 GB groß und die andere den Rest mit ext3.

Folgende Vorgehensweise:

fdisk /dev/hdb

mit d jede einzelne Partion auf der Platte löschen

mit n eine neue Partition anlegen Startzylinder ist 1. Nur wieviel ist der Endzylinder. Wie rechnet man den aus?

Danach mit mkfs-t ext3 /dev/hdb1 die Platte formatieren.

Ist das die richtige Vorgehensweise und wie rechnet man die Endzylinder aus?
