Was war eigentlich die erste 64 Bit CPU?

War das Itanium von Intel? (gibts den überhaubt schon - steinigt mich nicht für diese Frage! - ) Ich hab da bisserl was verpennt.

Der Itanium ist ein Server Prozessor, oder?

Bin da eigentlich blos wegen dem neuen AMD Optereon draufgekommen.

Der Itanium bzw. Itanium 2 ist nicht die erste 64 Bit CPU von Intel (zumal das Itanium Design nicht allein von Intel stammt, sondern in Zusammenarbeit mit HP basierend auf HPPA entstanden ist), es gab bereits vor über 10 Jahren (1989) eine 64 Bit CPU von Intel, den I860. Andere 64-Bit Architekturen (Dec Alpha, HPPA, Sparc, usw.) sind ebenfalls deutlich älter als Itanium.
