Ich möchte in einem horizontalen Lauftext aktuelle Angebote erscheinen lassen.

Der Lauftext ist natürlich ein Java-Applet.

Die aktuellen Angebote wechseln ggf. täglich und sollen aus einer Datenbank ausgelesen werden.

Funktioniert das mit einem Java-Applet in PHP?

Na klar, warum nicht? Solange der Text der eingeblendet werden soll mittels <param>-Tags übergeben wird, ist das gar kein Problem.

PHP wird auf dem Server ausgeführt, noch bevor der Client (der Browser) die Seite erhält, steht dann der Text in den Tags drin. Und erst im Browser wird dann das Applet gestartet.

soweit ich weiss funktioniert java mit jedem browser, vorrausgesetzt, das eine Java Virtual Machine installiert ist (Java Plugin für den Browser)
