Hallo,

Vielleicht kann mir hierbei jemand weiterhelfen. Ich möchte im Shellscript alle Datei- und Directorynamen die in meinem Homeverzeichnis vorkommen in ein Array schreiben und dann iterativ dessen Elemente und Länge ausgeben.

Was ich mich aber frage ist, ob du wirklich ein shell script mit arrays benötigst oder ein ordinäres "find" nicht ausreicht?!

P.S.: Alles was ein Array wirklich benötigt würde ich nie in shell machen, sondern in Perl, Python, etc.

Ich würde das mit find, read, wc und ner while-schleife lösen. Wie victorinox schon sagt, brauchst du dazu keine Arrays.

Wenn du das ganze mit Arrays machst, musst Du die dynamisch füllen. Fänd ich persönlich etwas overbuffed. ;)
